Goa
Whenever we hear the name goa the first
thing that comes in our mind is the magnificient beaches. Apart from that
temples ,church are also found. Tourist would always favour for beaches in goa
rather than other places.Goa is one of the smallest state located on the west coast of India.Churches
in Goa have been declared as a World Heritage site expescially the Basilica of
Bom Jesus.
Lets have a look at the Beaches first :
Beaches :
Beaches in Goa are generally divided into
northern and southern side and the beaches make up 125km.Northern side is
commercial and it is low in budget value where as Southern side is rich in cost
and private beaches are located.All beaches here are relatively safe with only
few crimes.
Beaches in northern side :
1. Arambol -
one hour drive from Dabolim
Airport,main attraction during winter season . Saddest part is no Hotel is
found near the beach.A shorter walk from here leads to a frsh water lake which
is a mixture of fresh and salt water.
People also come from various places to
sell their goods here.
2. Morjim -
called as the sexiest place .olive ridley sea turtle is nested and
hatched here which are considered as endangered species.One of the smallest
place found and is called as "little russia".
3.Chapora -
a ten km walk from northern
side.It is close to a portuguese fort.It is the very cheapest place among all
northern beaches.various fruit centre available inside.
4. Anjuna -
a small village in Goa which is
one of 12 brahmin comunidades of Bardez/
5.Baga -
seaside area town.various tourist
from various nations visit it annually.
Beach located few km from north.
6.Calangute -
largest beach in northern
side.during june- september the season is rough and prohibited for entering the
beach.various water sport activities takes place .
7.Candolim -
15km from the capital ,also
one of the longest beach.Fort build durin 1612 for defense against dutch and
maratha invaders is epic one.
8.Sinquerim -
famous for its pure beach and
16km from panaji.
9.Bambolim -
only village where medical
college is located
10.Miramar -
beach where people come
everyday from Goa for its pleasant look.Smallest beach in Northern side.various
schools also located here.
11.Dona Paula -
it was named after historic
portuguese figure in India.located on a triangle between panjim,miramar and
dona paula. Basically the place is silent except on festival days.
Beaches in Southern Goa:
1. Bogmalo -
small size beach and village .
Variuos types of hotel foundall over the place.
Distance - 4km from Dabolim Airport central area for exploring the state.
2. Colva -
consists mainly of white
sand,one of the famous beach for coconut palms.During the months of may the
beach experience a hottest temperature.
3. Benaulim -
located on south of margao, immense natural beauty
place Very less no of people live .
4. Varca -
popular for tourist , row of
wooden fishing boats seen alongside beach.Business activities takes place here
.
Mobor and canaginim and agonda are smaller beaches found near by .
5. Palolem -
located 2and half km from
sothern side.Spoiled by fishermen and the depth of sea increase gradually.
Movie shooting have taken place here(Bourne Supremacy). It is also pilgrimage
location in Goa.
Wildlife :
Various wild life sanctuary like
Bondla,Bhagwan,Cotigao,Mahadeyi,Netravali are located. Animals like foxes,wild
boars, migrated birds,kingfisher,myna and parrots also found in Goa.the 5th
tallest falls Dudhsagar is located in Bhagwan Mahaveer sanctuary
Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary located in Chorao. A international place where variuos
kind of birds are also displayed.

origin of cultural and history is kept .

Hotels For Stay in GOA :
Tourist accomdation is awesome always with a wide range of hotels,resorts, guest houses ranging from low class to high class.
Simple hotels for middle class people and high 5start range hotel for high class people are available at various cost.
To have best accommdation , we must book our room prior to our arrival since Goa is very frequently visited by tourists.
Accommodation in Goas is classified into three type :
BUDGET HOTELS:
Best suited for tourists who plan out their travel .cost ranges from simple rooms to costly well built rooms.
Usually cost increases during tourist seasons to double of its normal cost.A normal room with a bed room and toilet cost around 400-500 during tourism periods.Always check the rooms and bath rooms before reserving your rooms.To enjoy the taste of Goa. it is always recommended to stay in family rooms with mud base.Water supply would be little problem in those rooms.
MID-RANGE HOTELS:
Next comes the medium range hotels which is widely spread in Goa and almost available in all months for accommodation.Normally they are with proper room service,toilet and water services and also with restaurants at base.
Most tourist people prefer for these kind of hotels in Goa.Range of stay is from 450-900 with proper fan,toilet,balcony to view the city,water supply all time,tv and ac(cost may vary) available.
Most of the hotels in Goa fall in this category.
HIGH-RANGE HOTELS:
These hotels are basically classified as 2-star, 3-star and 5-star which can be found in all areas but in less number.The 5-star hotels always are near to beach side and normally ranges from Rs2,000 - Rs10,000 for a single day and night.
Resorts along the beach side have their own restaurants , coffee shop, bar , swimming pool , gym, playing are and shopping places.
Staying in a luxury hotel will be good if u wish to visit the beaches during night times.
LONG-TERM RENTALS:
Some of the travellers would like to stay in a place for a month or more .It is best for those people to stay in rent houses which are also available in Goa.
Rent usually vary depending upon the area ,village , facilities etc. A normal rent for a house for a month would be ranging from Rs4000 to Rs 6000 .
If rooms are shared by more people then this woulld be much useful.Reservation for such rooms are needed to avoid fight in bargaining.
Mostly these houses are found in village areas and near beaches ( some) .
Deposit for the rooms would normally be high for longer stay of the person.
